There is an abundance of walks of various levels nearby: from a 5-minute walk to the local shop and inn; along the shore or glens; and hill walking from gentle walks to the Five Sisters of Kintail. There are many other activities in the surrounding area including excellent fishing.
Of historic interest are the Pictish Brochs, General Wade's barracks, and Sandaig (where Gavin Maxwell lived with his otters) and from which the film Ring of Bright Water was made.
